OVER 100 YEARS OF ANGLING
Welcome to the website for Pewsey & District Angling Association.
We hope everyone is looking forward to another busy year on the banks of our lake and canal.
Tight lines to all for 2024.
Welcome to all our members and non-members. We would just like to remind everyone that the 2024/2025 Permit is available from Wootons, 5 North Street, Pewsey and the Membership Secretary (see below) from 1st May.
They are also available from Hills Tackle Amesbury and Challis Tackle Andover.
Day tickets are available from the Spar Shop in Pewsey.
Persons buying annual membership or day tickets should check the match fixture calendar provided to ensure availability of the clubs waters.
Please ensure you have a valid Rod Licence, easily obtainable online and carry it with you when ever you are fishing. This is YOUR responsibility and the club will support the Environmental Agency in every way it can to ensure all our members and day ticket anglers have the required licence.
You will be asked and if there is no valid Rod Licence shown you will be unable to continue fishing.
*** IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR BOOKING IN TO LAKE MATCHES
Members who wish to enter the monthly match at Sharcott must ring the Lake Match Secretary, number available on Club Permit. Bookings will be on a first come first accepted basis. Please see the Lake section for more information
A Word From Our President
Over one hundred years old and still going strong. We pride ourselves on being a friendly well run club that caters for match anglers, pleasure anglers and those who have little or no experience.
We have over three miles of prime fishing on The Kennet & Avon Canal which rewards those willing to put the time in to get to know the various stretches.
Great bream catches, along with some cracking winter roach fishing, and perch, rudd, skimmers, tench, carp & pike all combine to give some excellent fishing year round.
Our club lake at Sharcott is a great mixed fishery, ideal for both the beginner and the more experienced angler.
Throughout the year the lake produces some great sport with mirror & common carp to mid doubles, roach, bream, rudd, skimmers, perch and a few chub.
Regular club matches are held on both the canal and lake and bookings can be made with the relevant match organiser.
We are always open to new members and we look forward to welcoming you soon.
Simon Burden, President
